Tours with some photography

Whilst many of my clients want to be immersed in photography, this can be a bit too much for some people. Therefore, if you are looking primarily for a traditional private sightseeing tour but with a little bit of photography tuition thrown in, then this may be the “workshop” for you.

Locations Visited: Popular destinations include Culloden Battlefield, Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Dunrobin Castle, Glenmorangie Distillery, Tomatin Distillery, The Cairngorm National Park, and Eilean Donan Castle.

Tour Price: From £200 up to £350 depending on destination. The price is for up to 3 people who are sightseeing together.

Workshops and Experiences

Different people have different needs so it is important to pick the workshop experience that is right for you. With this in mind, I have developed a range of workshops, each offering a different experience.

Whilst many of my clients want to be immersed in photography, I have also recognised that this is a bit too much for some people. Therefore, if you are looking primarily for a traditional private sightseeing tour but with a little bit of photography tuition thrown in, then there is also something for you.

Whatever your needs, be it a little guidance and tuition or an in-depth multi-day photography experience (or anywhere in between), then I have a workshop that is just right for you.

Workshops for novices and enthusiasts

Workshops for serious photographers

These workshops are all about getting the best images. This may mean early starts and late finishes to photograph the sunrise or sunset. Photographers joining these workshops will have good photography knowledge and be confident in their skills.

Inverness Photo Walks

Inverness is a compact and beautiful city. Within a 15 minute walk, we can easily get from the busy city centre to the calm oasis of The Ness Islands right in the middle of the River Ness.

I offer two photo walks in Inverness.

Daytime walks provide a general overview of the city. I’ll outline a little of the history point out some of the key landmarks and help you get some great photos.

Evening walks are aimed at those more interested in developing their low-light photography skills. This is all about photography and is ideal for photographers wanting to challenge themselves or learn a new skill. You will require a fully manual camera.

Both of these walks are approximately 3 hours and are for a maximum of 3 people.

I am re-designing these workshops based on the latest Covid advice. This workshop is expected to re-commence later in 2021.

My landscape photography workshops and tours are suitable for photographers of all abilities. With a maximum of just 3 photographers at each workshop, you get plenty of my time to concentrate on what interests you most. My workshops are especially good if you are looking to learn new skills and get the best from your digital camera. Not only can you brush up your existing skills but I will also introduce you to new ideas and ways of working that will help you take your photography to a new level. Of course, being based in one of the UK’s most scenic location means you will also get to capture images of the magnificent Scottish Highland mountains, glens, lochs and seascapes.

My workshops have also proved popular with more experienced photographers. The landscape and weather conditions pose new challenges allowing you to test your skills to the maximum. Many very accomplished photographers return to my workshops time and again.

Workshops can consist entirely of on-location shooting, or we can include an element of post-processing tuition (Lightroom and Photoshop) if you wish. The aim is to build your skills and confidence so you can produce stunning artworks. Many past participants on my landscape photography workshops tell me that images they captured whilst with me now take pride of place throughout their homes. Some have even used images in their businesses and more than a few have had sold images for commercial purposes such as book covers.

I offer both single day and multi-day workshops either on a one-to-one basis or for small groups up to a maximum of 3 people.

All of our workshops are operating in a covid safe way. You can see what precautions by clicking here.
